# I got this little beauty from a friend’s plant so I could try to…

I got this little beauty from a friend’s plant so I could try to propogate it. She didn’t know what kind it was but I love the purples in the leaves. Any thoughts on what it is? I’m thinking maybe boat Lily?

Cryptanthus bivittatus

I don’t think the edges of the mother plant leaves look like the Cryptanthus bivttatus.

Could be The oyster plant (Tradescantia spathacea)

It’s a boat Lily. I have one. They propagate well in water. Mine had roots in 2 days.

Thanks. I was thinking that but it was hard to tell, even looking at the mother plant. I thought so but wanted to get other opinions.

Been battling with her since I rescued her, but those leaves are so pretty I just couldn’t give up.

how do you get it to be more purple mine fades, is it the light i only have a south and west window

Boat lily. I have one as well ☺️ cut her back every year
