Leca people!!

I’m so confused about the water reservoir when transferring. So the water goes right below the roots?? Because they’re still soil roots? But then once they start to grow the fuzzy water roots it’s okay if the water touches?

Hello!! I love leca and here’s what I’ve found works best: when you first put your plant in make a reservoir that doesn’t reach the roots and let the leca carry the water to the plant. Once the roots grow to where you can see them in multiple spots around the jar, let the water touch them BUT only a little bit. I’d say about an inch of water on the roots. Eventually (like my Leca monstera) the roots will reach all over the entire jar and wrap around the bottom, at the point you can add however much water is needed.

Do you leave water in the reservoir just below the roots at all times? until the roots expand throughout the jar you can proceed to routine waterings?

Yes, make sure the water never runs out and then when the roots grow more you can water more
