Hi guys!

I am getting ready to move about an hour away from where I live now… does anybody have any good tips, tricks, or hacks on how to pack and move 75+ plants?? Also if anybody has been able to successfully move with fiddle leaf figs or a variety of other ficus… I’m so worried my FLF and ruby rubber tree are going to have a freak out 😭😭😭

If you have 2” plants, use an egg carton to hold all of them at once! And if you have 3-4” plants use a drink tray to hold 4 at once. You could make sure the soil stays in the pot with plastic wrap/newspaper/tape/cotton stuffing/etc. If you’re worried about some plants drying out, use sphagnum moss. I’ve never actually moved with plants but have heard these before so I’m sure other people will have better tips!

I recently watched a video from Madison from PlantTherapii (give her a follow, she is awesome I love her) about tips and tricks with moving. She has another 3 videos afterwards where she also shows how she unpacked them so you get to see the packed plants as well if you need a visual.
Can’t link the video but here is a screenshot 🩷

Thanks for this. I will be moving within the next 1-3 yrs and I have no intentions of getting rid of my plants. I will be taking them with me. This helps. I’ve saved her video in YouTube. Thank you.

Thank you so much!! I’m going to go follow her right now!

Melissa from plantsbymelissa moved last year and I did watch her YouTube videos on how she packed and moved and her tips and tricks as well. I will def watch the video you recommend as well though 😁

Your FLF is going to be upset whether you move her to a grow light closet to protect her from the “gardening” 2 year old or halfway across the country, but just like my wife when I bought a motorcycle, she’ll get over it. Give her similar or better conditions at the end of the journey and she’ll start putting out new growth within a month. The rubber on the other hand is a champ. Keep him fed and lit and he’ll forget about the dark moving truck in a couple days
