# Hi there! So I rescued this Corn plant and have been growing it in…

_Posted by Menah 🦋 on 2023-07-01_

Hi there! So I rescued this Corn plant and have been growing it in water. It has done so well, when purchasing it did not have any leaves on top besides some brown dead ones. But now I would like to transition it to soil. Should I cut the brown from the bottom of this plant and just keep the small little white roots ?? Any advice please!

I think you’d keep them? They don’t look super dead

Great job! I’d keep them. I might even wait to plant until I had more new roots.

I would let it grow more significant secondary roots in something like leca, and only remove mushy brown roots, not the more stout yellowish ones

Thank you all! I’ll definitely check out growing it in the leca.
