Is Pine Bark Mulch safe for indoor plants?

I wouldn’t mulch indoor plants as it may cause eventual root rot. Plants indoors already have a harder time drying out and getting appropriate amount of oxygen. Mulching would just further compound this.

You could however, mix bark into your potting soil to airate the soil. That would actually be helpful for many species.

Well, the bag was labeled Pine Bark Mulch… so, if I mixed that into the soil, would that still be okay?

Yes totally fine! As long as its mixed in throughout and giving air to roots rather than sitting on top trapping moisture into a way too dense soil. You should be good!
