# My app is telling me for my Begonia Frosty to fertilize it every week…

My app is telling me for my Begonia Frosty to fertilize it every week in June! I have it set to liquid fertilizer so it sort of makes sense to me and it resets the 9 day water timer too.. but does anyone think this is too much fertilizer for it?

I have it an area a bit too dark and not right by the window?

If you’re using an organic fertilizer or even a urea-free chemical fertilizer, it’s fine to fertilize your plants as long as their growing!

Typically only fertilizing once a month in the growing season is standard protocol for most. However there are so many variables that you can adjust to, such as by cutting the amount of fertilizer down to like 1/4 dose so that you can pretty much water with it every time without worry of fertilizer burn or such. It also depends what kind you are using. If you are giving it full dose strength Planta’s “every other watering” schedule seems way to much for plants that need to be watered frequently like every 2-3 days. I customize mine for pretty much every plant, after I hurt some of my plants by following there auto-algorithm.

You can tweak the fertilizing schedule to fit with the watering schedule better.
