# Hi, I recently bought this huge and beautiful Red Leaf Banana and…

Hi, I recently bought this huge and beautiful Red Leaf Banana and I’ve noticed water collecting in between the leaves at the base.

It happened first after I mist it and another time the day after I watered it.

I’m trying to figure out water needs. I’m giving it a full watering can every time Planta tells me to but I’ve yet to see water coming out it beside from the leaves themselves.

Am I doing anything wrong or is it all just normal for this plant?

Thanks for the help!

Do you still have it in its original plastic pot inside the terra-cotta pot? If so, I would repot with new soil.

Yeah it’s still in the original plastic one inside the terra-cotta. Would that be a suitable pot for that?

I would repot into the terracotta pot because it looks like it’s doing well and growing big! water is stored in the leaves and your plant can sweat it out, most of my philodendrons will have little sweat drips on their leaves from watering, it’s called “Transpiration: Most of the time, water drops on plants are caused by transpiration, the plant's usual water exchange process.” It’s also a natural way for the plant to have more humidity! Happy planting your plant is BEAUTIFUL 😍
