# I would love to hear everybody’s planty…

I would love to hear everybody’s planty opinions/confessions/facts/lessons/resources/research/etc! I know that’s a broad subject but I think a group that’s specifically for this would be fun. I love to nerd out about plants.

Keeping with the theme of confessions I recently gifted a friend a stromanthe that I just wasn’t enjoying. It looked fine but it took too much to keep it looking that way. Right after I handed it to her, I though “that really is a pretty plant. Maybe I should get another.” Ugh, something is wrong with me.

I find variegation of green with yellow so visually unappealing 🙊. If a plant annoys me I send it to my parents because my Dad appreciates any and all of my rejects. I usually leave my water props in water for way TOOOO long because I forget about them or get too lazy to plant them.

Yaaasss! I have a secret (not so secret) repulsion to most variegated plants (yellow and green combo especially) and turn away from all those high-end “rare” variegated varieties. Plus I understand (you-tube research) the science behind them and how most either loose their variegation or revert, or just look ugly or die from not enough photosyntheses. Works out for me, less expensive loves! Ha ha! 😬🤓

Confession: My planty friend gifted me loads of her plants when she moved away, one of which was a 2-leafed Hoya of some kind. I thought it was super ugly (bird-poo splotches anyone)… plus it looked sad or sick and was in a too big for it hideous pot that I didn’t feel like re-potting…. But mostly because I thought it was ugly AF. So i chucked it in the bin. Only time I have ever done that to a plant. Oh the guilt! 😬🫣

I have only bought plants from Walmart in terrible condition because I like bringing them back to life buying a plant in good condition is just too easy
