# Does anyone have plant recommendations? I live in a dry place and I…

_Posted by jette on 2023-06-06_

Does anyone have plant recommendations? I live in a dry place and I overwater most of the plants I have now. I have a south facing window, but it is also somewhat blocked by a tree 15+ feet away from it.

Thanks!

Maybe Fitonia (Nerve plant) or Juncus Effusus (Spiralis) for the overwaterer part… or even ferns. All good for shadier and pretty much impossible to overwater.
The dry climate part is a bit of a stumper since most desert plants have under water needs. Hmmm.

Monstera can live in part shade and they love water. I water mine almost every other day. Sometimes twice a day.

Another good plant that loves low light and water is called “Mother-in-Law’s Tongue”.

Pothos are also good choices. They love water and can grow in water too.

I live in a dry climate and had lots of success with most Hoya varieties!

Oh yes, Hoyas are great for dry climates! But most don’t like a lot of water… for the over-waterer. However, check out the Hoya Linearis. My new favorite plant! It actually likes more water than other Hoya varieties and its gorgeous!
