Has anyone converted an ikea/curio cabinet into a greenhouse before?! Any tips/tricks? I found these on facebook marketplace today and am SO excited to see what I can turn them into!

What a find!! Definitely look for some YouTube tutorials.

I was shocked when I saw them! And for a pretty reasonable price too, much cheaper than from Ikea. And yes, I think I’ve now watched every cabinet greenhouse conversion video to ever exist on youtube 😆.

Great find! Ok u think u might not need to weather strip them but u should. I didn’t think I’d need to but I do and going to, just waiting for the stuff to get here. And I would spend the extra money on different shelves (the ones w the holes) bc it does help w air flow. Im sure if you YouTube it’ll point u in the right direction as to what sellers r best for ur type of cabinets.

I went to lowes and had them cut down wire ventilated shelves to the right size! I’ve also got fans that should help with airflow as of yesterday. I am sooo intimated by weatherstripping but you’re right, I need to do it!

I’d just make sure it has a bit of ventilation so the plants don’t get TOO much humidity and mold!

Wire ventilation shelves and fans are installed as of last night! I now need to find a way to increase humidity actually. I am hesitant to include a humidifier due to the “wood” base and top, but I suppose that just generally weatherstripping would probably get the environment pretty close to ideal humidity!

I've been searching for one but no luck yet. I'm not that sad about it because if I DO find one, then I have to figure out how to convert it! 😉

You TOTALLY need to do this! I had a facebook marketplace set alert for “ikea cabinet”, and then also the names of the convertible ones. Converting it has been tricky and a little expensive, but it’s SOOO cool to come home and see them!
