# This is my first orchid. These roots don’t look great but idk much…

This is my first orchid. These roots don’t look great but idk much about them. I was told to only keep part of their roots submerged and dry them out every 4 days. 🤷🏽‍♀️  
Any tips?

The roots look really good but it seems like it could be planted. Orchids like to be planted on a tree wrapped in moss.

i wouldn’t plant them on a tree, most places get too cold or too hot for orchids. they grow in water just fine and you actually don’t have to plant them at all.

Ahh I love this I had an orchid dying from root rot with only one goood root left! I poor out the water on the weekends and during the week I have water in it, and it’s growing back and doing so well!! Keep up the great work!!! It looks lovely! 😍 any roots that start to brown, a few of them I agree don’t look super healthy, even if they have green lower in the roots don’t worry just chop it off so that root rot on top doesn’t spread, they will grow more! mine is living off three tiny roots! You’re orchid is going to thrive!! 😍
