# I had to “behead” my jade plant. I let it callous for a few days then…

I had to “behead” my jade plant. I let it callous for a few days then replanted the cutting in its own pot. The bottom leaves look strange. They have brown areas on the ends and some of the ends have flattened. They have lost their plumpness. They are under a grow light but this plant has always been under a grow light. I have sticks holding the jade up as this cutting is very full and top heavy. I was planning on leaving the sticks in until it has grown strong roots and can hold itself up. Is this plant sun burned?

The pot looks really big for these small cuties? I’ve read that too big pots can cause some root and watering issues. Might be good to check the roots 😊

this is NOT a jade plant! this is some kind of moonstones and this colouring looks like a natural color change that happens as the plant ages

The app called it a jade plant. I’m not referring to the red/pink color if that what you mean. I’m referring to the brown spots on the bottom leaves then they shrivel up and die so I’m not sure that’s natural and supposed to happen but I could be wrong
