Could someone please explain the Chopstick Method? I have kept houseplants for a while but I've never heard of it before!

Never heard of this but I stick a chopstick in my soil to prop up my tall plants to stop them from falling over 😂

Basically to check the moistness of your soil

It’s basically a low tech moisture meter. Place a chopstick in the soil, pushing it all the way to the bottom, and leave it there. Leaving it in the soil will allow it to absorb some of the water. Periodical you can remove the chopstick to check soil moisture. As the soil dries out so will the chopstick.

I actually never knew this, and I thought it was a way to actually give it water 🤣😂😅

It’s a great way to check plants that like to dry out mostly.
