# Hello, I have bought a Ficus, my first plant that is hard to take…

Hello, I have bought a Ficus, my first plant that is hard to take care of. Any tips? I have pruned the dead leaves, and stems, cleaned off the dead leaves in the soil. Repotted it with new soil, and got rid of some the old soil. When I bought it at the hardware store, it was in a little rough shape, but still has some healthy growth. They don’t really take care of the indoor plants. I will add a photo later when I have the chance to. I’ve already checked for spider mites, and fungus gnats. One concern is a few yellow spots here and there on the leaves, that look slightly pitted. Any idea what that means? Help and advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

When I bought my first fiddle leaf fig and brought it home, it almost immediately dropped 75% of its leaves. Apparently, just moving them from store to home can shock them, as they don’t like to be moved much. I would check that you don’t have it too close to any vents or drafts, get it as close to indirect light as you can, and get it on a regular watering/fertilizer schedule. Mine came back in spectacular fashion :) Good luck!

I think it is doing exactly that right now. Two very healthy looking leaves have fallen. Now there’s 9 left.

Think it needs more light! Then once you find a good spot, leave it there. Also the pot might be too big? Can’t tell but these guys like tighter pots
