Hey! Newbie plant mom here- this is a phal orchid. Some of the flowers are wilting and the leaves look like they’re yellowing? (I might be wrong) I never put it in direct sunlight, I only water it once a week, and my room is the right temperature. Am i doing something wrong?

Normally it’s totally natural for the flowers to eventually wilt but I can see buds that’s wilting too and that indicates that your Pham is suffering from something. This is usually cause by underwatering, overwatering, incorrect light or root rot. The leaves looks fine, on the other hand, so I don’t suspect any major issue. Check the light and the moisture in the substrate. And check if the orchid needs to get repotted. The substrate is often quite decayed and bad when they are sold. Sometimes the roots are root bound as well ☺️

I have a small-ish pot that is ceramic and without drainage. It came with a clear plastic pot with drainage. It helps me check for root rot and root bound plants. I would check for root rot during repotting, but maybe you should check those out!

Phals often loose their blooms when you get them home if the experienced dramatic temperature changes on the way (if it’s too hot/ cold outside, car a/c, etc).
