# Hi plant friends. I received this monstera seedling ( in pon) and it…

Hi plant friends. I received this monstera seedling ( in pon) and it has grown bigger now. I see an aerial root that doesn’t reach the level of the pon and it’s roots growing out of the pot. I have no idea what to do as I have my plants in soil. Can I transfer it to soil and what else should I do ? Any feedback will be helpful.

I wouldn’t worry to much about the aerial root not being in the pon because those can just hang out. If the roots are growing out of the bottom, I would repot into soil if you think the plant is getting too root bound but right now I think it’s okay looking!

If you do repot it make sure to do so in a really well draining aroid mix otherwise the roots will rot

Good to know that. Thank you for sharing this.

Also, your air root will grow and reach the soil!

I’ve also had luck with putting a moss pole in the pot and the aerial roots will sometimes latch to that and grow.
