I just noticed these little white things  
in my Fiddle leaf fig’s pot. I am a beginner when it comes to plants and taking care of them. Are these normal?

It looks like perlite, which is puffed volcanic glass used to make soil more airy. You should be able to crush it w your fingers. If not, then maybe a slow release fertilizer bead.
