Every plant site/app I check out is giving me a different begonia name.

Is this a lucerna or maculata?? Please help me identify, I love her dearly ❤️

(Used Gemini to check) Based on the file, the plant is a Begonia maculata.

It is most commonly known as the Polka Dot Begonia or Wightii, and falls under the broader category of "Angel Wing" begonias due to the distinctive, asymmetrical shape of its leaves and its striking silvery-white spots.

I asked ChatGPT and Gemini and Planta and they’re all giving me different names. When one of them gave me lucerna, i google searched and they looked very much like the lucerna over the angel wing

Your plant appears to be a lucerna. It has wide, ruffled leaves and small silver dots.

Maculata leaves are narrow with large silver dots.

I pulled these two pictures from a quick google search to show the difference. The flowering plant is a maculata, the non-flowering is lucerna.

I was thinking the same thing, the lucerna looks exactly like what I have. But every time I tried adding it to the Planta app it would tell me it was the maculata.

Your comment gave me the reassurance I needed to call it the lucerna ☺️
