# Hi all, I have had a dragon tree for a while now, it is growing new…

Hi all,
I have had a dragon tree for a while now, it is growing new leaves but doesn’t seem to want to keep the old leaves, the bottom ones fall off. Is there any advice on how to better look after it?
Just for reference, I mist according to Planta and water it when the soil is dry, I’ve recently been watering just before to see if this makes a difference but hasn’t been long enough to tell yet.
Thanks ❤️

I think this is actually pretty normal for dragon trees. If you think about it, they wouldn't be able to keep growing the trunk upwards if all the leaves stayed on. So when the bottom leaves die then just pull them off :-) your plant is doing well. I've had a dragon tree for years and when it's growing it loses the bottom leaves. Also make sure you're not over watering it.
