# Hi, I bought a ZZ plant and I am not sure if the soil that came with…

Hi, I bought a ZZ plant and I am not sure if the soil that came with it's suitable. It seems to be made out of small wood shavings and soil. The plant looks healthy and there are no signs of any bugs. Can somebody please advise whether I should change its soil to a chunky soil mix or leave it until it's time to repot due to growth. Thank you.

ZZ plants will survive in any condition lol. The soil looks okay; I’d check to see if it’s rootbound and needs a repot!

One summer, my zz got sunburnt, so I trimmed it back and put it under my deck. I then forgot about it for 3 months, no sun or water. When I finally remembered, it had new growth lol
