Are those leaves firm when you squeeze them or a little squishy? How much light does your ZZ get and how often do you water?

I think they were firm. I’ll have to check tomorrow. If they are squishy, what do you think that might mean? It gets office lighting so not much real light. I water it according to planta so not super often.

These leaves just feel like normal leaves. They don’t feel squishy or anything. It’s pretty close to an overhead light so maybe it’s too close?? I’ve had this one or a version of this one there for a while so k don’t really think it’s that but certainly could be.

Do the spots wipe off? Could be mineral deposits from the water. It won’t hurt the plant to snip off that section. ZZ’s are the best, they are so resilient 💪🏼

If they’re squishy it could mean that stalk is dealing with some overwatering but really the best way to see what’s going on is to check the roots/ rhizomes.

I wouldn’t follow Planta’s schedule exactly, it’s a good reminder to check on plants but the AI is only so accurate.

Sounds good! I’ll check them out tomorrow!
