I have a stair landing that has an eastern facing octagonal window. It gets indirect morning light. I would like to get a pet friendly plant that would do well with the lighting. Is there a pet friendly plant that you think would do well here? This is an evening photo just so you can see the distance the table top is from the window.

I am mostly familiar with calathea and Peperomia plants. I have a rattlesnake plant that is thriving one floor up in the house near a similar facing window. Do you think that a rattlesnake plant would do well with this lighting, or would it be considered too far away to receive enough light? Maybe a Boston fern? There’s a large peacock plant at Whole Foods that is gorgeous but I don’t know if it would be too big for the landing table.

Have you thought about an african violet? Also Boston Ferns would do well with it!

Thank you! I’ve been wanting to get my first fern. I am inexperienced with them but willing to learn and invest my time. I appreciate the recommendations!

Id research it a little because the violet needs bright indirect light and the fern needs medium light. Also i dont own either of these plants i just think they look nice

Spider plant? Maybe a pothos but they’re definitely less pet safe

Spider plant or Boston fern could do well there

This corner is screaming snake plant or mother in laws tongue to me. I feel like you need height in that space and those plants won’t impede walking space. Just an idea!
