# Quick question! I’m looking for something to buy to create more space…

_Opslået af Adrian den 2024-08-13_

Quick question! I’m looking for something to buy to create more space on my windowsill for my plants. I have pretty narrow windowsills all throughout my house, and sadly my dad is the one that lucked out with all the south windows in his room, leaving me with one little south windowsill to work with on the first floor. Does anyone have anything they’ve used to extend a windowsill, or any shelving item that they’ve bought to stick to a window? TIA! I have a fast growing Jade plant that’s quickly outgrowing its spot, but I don’t wanna move her from the “succulent corner” I have that I use as a nice display of my plants that everyone can see through the window of the front of our house when people come in.

They make easily-installable shelving units that are against the windows to place plant pots in! You can also DIY!

can you hang any of them? hooks like these are really easy to install — hmm it won’t let me attach a photo

I’m planning on hanging my sedum morganianum once she’s big enough, but the other 3 in the windowsill are all jades, so even my biggest one isn’t exactly one meant for hanging. I’ll have to try that hook when I hang Xochi, though. Thanks!

you could install 2 hooks and hang a floating shelf!

I bet you could find a narrow tabletop like thing to add against the sill for larger pots. I also use tension rods to create more layers for hanging plants.

yes tension rods — great call! there are verticals options too!

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! I’ve got my work cut out for me on deciding.

I’ve been thinking about getting something like this tension rod that comes with little stands/platforms you can move around/up/down to put by one of my windows.

I’ve seen those around too 🤔 so many options! I’ll be sure to post whatever setup I decide on
