# My name is Mysti....and I kill Marantas. No idea why....use distilled…

My name is Mysti....and I kill Marantas.

No idea why....use distilled water and don't let it dry out, give it light and love.

I will try again....would love to have a collection but gotta keep at least 1 alive for awhile first!

Do you add plant food to the distilled water? Distilled water has nothing in it for your plant. There’s no new transfer or anything for them to live off of distilled water basically just makes them wet.

Yep....I was using a weak solution in each watering. Did this until the Fall. I tried treated tap water and then read they prefer rainwater or distilled. I usually buy a smaller one so if it dies, the out of pocket cost isn't too bad. But I really would like to keep one alive for more than a few months!

i give my maranta normal tap water, and it dries out completely between waterings. i have it right in front of a west facing window. she's thriving! i've had it for about 7 months now.

Beautiful! I'd love one of these, but not sure I'm ready for one. Only a plant parent now for about a year and a half.

I’ve only been a plant parent for 4 months now. I’m up to 45 plants lol got this guy a couple months ago. He just lives on the plant shelf under the grow light. I water when he’s dry and he just constantly pushes out new leaves.
