# I got this Philodendron for free at Home Depot. (If anyone could…

_Publicado por 🪴❤️Enzo❤️🪴 el 2024-07-23_

I got this Philodendron for free at Home Depot. (If anyone could identify what kind of Philodendron that would be appreciated) I found the whole just sitting on the shelf out of the pot. I asked a worker if I could take it and they said yes! I just wanted to ask if this looks like pest damage before I put it in my room full of plants and expose them. TIA!!! ❤️🪴

It looks like an Alocasia to me 🤔
Maybe a Dragontooth?

That’s what I thought, I thought it was some kind of Alocasia but I found another one in the pot with a tag that said Philodendron.🤷

Doesn’t look like pest damage, just some mechanical damage and also the yellow halo spot it’s probably due to what state the roots (or lack thereof lol) are doing. Definitely treat the roots with hydrogen peroxide and water solution to kill the rot and try to prop in a cup filled with damp (not dripping) spagnum moss. And keep it in a clear plastic bin with a lid on it next to a sunny window (to keep the humidity up and give good light for root development)
