# Can anyone help me with my Pink Panther? She keeps getting these…

_Posted by suchant on 2026-10-16_

Can anyone help me with my Pink Panther? She keeps getting these brown crusty leaves. I just cut off all the good growth, propagated, and repotted and they’re starting to brown again. It’s in a southern facing window getting lots of sun. I’ve seen some places say they like lots of water and others say it’s basically a succulent. So, I’m unsure if it’s my watering habits or what’s going on.

I had the same problem with mine so I made it a hydroponic plant 🌱 and that’s helped!!

Either not enough water, too much water (though I suspect that’s not it also being in a glazed pot), too much direct sun (it’s sensitive and can get scorched), or not enough humidity/too much air conditioning or hot air (common indoors). I have heard from others that keeping pot in a pebble tray with water can help with humidity or misting.

It’s in a nursery pot inside there so it drains well before I place it back in there. I’ve tried misting and water more and less. I’ll try moving it further from the window to see if it’s getting too much sun.

Aww they’re like babies, trying to understand what they are telling us. Have you made changes and then given it enough time? They are slow to adjust.

I just read that bottom watering is best, water on the leaves can damage. I had a pink panther briefly in my office with a grow light but ended up re-homing it as it was not happy and drying out- I think my office was way too drafty and cold.

It’s very pretty though! I hope this helps:)
