# Hi all, I’m still new to this whole plant parent game, so I’m sorry…

Hi all, I’m still new to this whole plant parent game, so I’m sorry if this is a silly question!

This is my double-flowered Flaming Katy which I bought a couple of months ago. She was in full bloom when I got her, but I checked today and it seems like she’s definitely done flowering - she looks like me after a rough night!

So, what do I need to do now to get her looking healthy again? Do I cut off the wilted flowers or just leave them as is? And if so, is it better to cut with scissors/shears or just pull them off by hand?

Cut them as low as possible with scissors ✂️

‘Looks like me after a rough night’ 🤣🤣 I’m dying!

Planta’s care info recommends dead-heading like the other comments have suggested, and then “treating it to darkness” I assume to simulate a winter. I’d assume lower the watering, keep it in a dark room for at least half the day (similar to daylight levels in winter) and don’t fertilise it for a month or two
