Has anyone ever grown succulents before?? I found this BEAUTIFUL succulent online, looked it up and of course found myself on Etsy and saw someone was selling the seeds. Wondering if it’s any harder or easier than planting veggies (which I’ve never been overly successful with lmao)

I’m very skeptical this is real and not AI. There is no green.

lol does this make you feel better? These seem to have minimal green

Yes it does help! Still, know that false advertising of plants is a thing, unfortunately… especially on Etsy and especially for seeds. 😬 And anytime a plant has colors other than green, they are more challenging, especially paler colors. I would suggest starting with some basic cheap succulents from a local greenhouse to get your feet wet.

I have heard that some will not ship the same seeds as the photos. Just buy with an open mind if you do.

This is what the plant is but id probably try buying from a plant nursery online or amazon before ever buying from Etsy again for plants, got scammed but thankfully got a refund.

I wish I didn’t kill my succulents immediately because this looks beautiful! 😍

I have a few plants but they’re whitish, blue-greenish. I’ve seen the pink in pictures but never in person. They’re great plants, so easy to grow and very easy to propagate.

Even if it isn’t THAT pink, it’s a fun shape and I love it! Maybe I’ll try growing the non hybrid first!

It sounds cool to grow succulents from seed! I haven’t tried it myself. I would make sure to buy from a reputable grower though. There’s a lot of seed scams online, especially Amazon and Etsy. They’ll send you whatever and give you instructions, banking that it’ll take so long for you to realize it’s the wrong plant or that it’s not going to sprout, that the window of time has ended for disputes or returns

Yea that’s a great point! I just have no idea where they sell succulent seeds locally…specifically this one!

#### Mullein respondió el 2024-03-08

Yeah definitely a niche thing. I hope you find a reputable source!

i have one of these, in really high light (about 10-12 hours direct sun or 14-18 hr grow light) they’ll turn vibrant pink. i have some leaf propagations that are that color but the main plant has stayed blue since an established plant is less prone to sun stress. pachyphytum oviferum is really common so i would recommend getting an established plant and moving it gradually to higher light to sun stress instead of growing seeds, as it’s likely the same price or possibly even cheaper and you won’t have to wait as long.

Thank you!! Great advice!
