I’m still quite new to this, so any advice is appreciated! I purchased this beautiful philodendron birkin today, it was the only one \&\& it was bending sideways. I can tell it definitely needs a new pot, should I wait till it’s completely dry to break up the root ball? I don’t want to shock the plant, or should I top off the top with some chunky soil mix, potentially add some support? Also any advice on caring for these would help me out so much!

I would avoid disturbing the root ball. Damaged roots shows up as limp, yellowing and dying leaves.

Wet soil is easier to manipulate. I would get the soil soaking wet and plant in a new pot with the plant positioned correctly in a vertical position. Gently press down the exposed roots that will be positioned near the top of the pot to get the roots under the soil. This will flatten out the cylindrical shape of the soil as it sits in the new larger pot allowing you to cover exposed roots with soil.

Use a pot 2 inches larger than the current pot width. 🍀🪴

give it some time to adjust to your house before repotting - when you do you can probably tilt the plant a little in the pot so its more upright.
as for care, water when its about halfway dry, and give it lots of bright indirect light; a south facing window or grow light works well!

I’ve been using grow lights since there is barely any sun by me at the moment how many hours a day would you recommend?

i think 10-12 would do fine, thought increase or decrease if you see signs of needing more/less
