I have no clue what type of plant this is!! Help!! I grew it from a seed that was gifted to me. It’s been a year now. I have no photo of the seed but it was kinda woody almost egg shaped. My best guess is a ponytail palm? This app \& AI has told me it is a spider plant but spider plant seeds are smaller than what I was given. Maybe my memory is wrong. I just saved her leafy butt from a spider mite infestation and I don’t want to disturb her pot to check for a caudex atm. The mystery haunts every waking moment.

The leaves look too wide for a ponytail palm (see pic). It does resemble a spider plant. 🤔

If not a spider plant, could it be some sort of dracaena? Also I’m just extremely curious what the red stuff in your soil is?

I love that you asked! It’s small rocks!! Not only is it pretty but if you have a plant that does not like its leaves sitting on wet soil, the rocks help a lot! Since the red rocks are so tiny I mostly use it for decor, I have some chunky blue rocks that are better suited for keeping leaves dry. I’m actually thinking about getting more rocks in different colors to color code my plants by their needs. (Red can mean prone to bug infestations therefore daily checks are important, blue can mean thirsty drama queen \& purple for the plants who don’t need much water. I think this system would be helpful if I had to travel and someone else had to plant sit for me.) I’m a Big fan of colored rocks😂

I wonder if it’s what used to be called a Wandering Jew? Don’t mean to be politically incorrect. I believe the name was changed but I don’t know what to.
