They’re not too hard in my experience, but the tricky part is balancing keeping the soil from drying out without it staying too soggy either. I’ve grown them as semi-hydroponic with success. They also do better for me as outdoor summer plants (I live in New England, US). The bulbs can be stored again when the weather gets cold
