# HELP!!! I came home to find part of my Anthurium laying sideways out…

_Publié par Lynda le 2024-06-30_

HELP!!! I came home to find part of my Anthurium laying sideways out of the pot and attached by only two roots. The first picture shows how I found her and the second picture shows how she is attached by only two roots. WHAT TO DO!!! Should I separate her from the mother plant and put her in water? Do I attempt to bury her in the dirt? I don’t know what to do… Please give me some good ideas since I know very little about anthuriums. Any help will be sincerely appreciated. TIA. 😊💚🪴

We can start with the fact that this is an Alocasia not an anthurium. Unfortunately it’s not likely you will be able to propagate the leaf. They don’t usually root from cuttings. This one has root tho so I would put it in sub stratum or sphagnum moss to see if the corm will reroot. Good luck!

I would also say you could try to repot the two roots that are there if they appear to be strong enough. It’s hard to see where it broke🤞🏼

I’m going to choose your method because it has hope! The two roots are not broken, they’re still attached in the soil; so I’m going to stake that one stem and bury the roots deeper. (Before the roots just laid on top of the soil.) With time and patience, hopefully, that stem will recover and continue to grow. TXS for your post! Regards…
