Oh interesting. I have “window shopped” on some importer websites and been tempted. But I’ve been to hesitant to try importing. Curious to hear how it goes! Hopefully very well ☺️ My only experience that is similar was buying from an Ecuagenera pop-up vendor at an orchid show. They were selling aroids that had just come with them from Ecuador. I got an anthurium luxurians that adjusted with no problem surprisingly. But the philodendron bicolor I got has been a struggle bus since March 🥲 It literally JUST started rooting seemingly out of nowhere a couple weeks ago and is now sending out its first new leaf! 🤩 I think p. bicolor is uncommon in the US because they’re not as hardy as most of the other philodendrons we know and love here. If I had to guess, I’d say the reason it’s finally growing for me is because this past month has been like the rain forest 🤣 Finally 80+ Fahrenheit and 80%+ humidity for my tropical baby lol But don’t let that worry you. Monstera are very commonly imported and suited as houseplants. All that was to say that you may have to do some TLC while it adjusts. Possibly some urgent care upon arrival. But try not to panic (easier said than done). A lot of times the plant eventually finds a way ☺️ #### Danii님이 2024-07-31에 답변했습니다. I’ll definitely post an update once they arrive! I just hope they arrive alive lol That’s cool you were able to get some imports at a pop up, and glad they both are thriving! Albos are just so expensive here in the US so thought I’d take a shot and see how this goes (two rooted cuttings for $30). The posting showed a very healthy root system (photo below) but I’m ready with a propagation set up if needed. Ooh nice!! Sounds like a good plan for arrival too. I got my albo from a seller on Etsy late last year. I forget exactly, but I wanna say I paid about $70 for a hardly rooted cutting, give or take. Plus some shipping. I was actually surprisingly lucky though because the seller had accidentally sold that cutting I had chosen to someone else in-person and forgotten to update their page. So they upgraded me to a very well rooted cutting that was already pushing out a new leaf! 😱 They even sent pictures beforehand in case I didn’t like the replacement option. As if I’d say no to a better plant for the same price 😜 I’ve heard stories of people nursing a bare node cutting for a year before getting any significant growth. I advocate for spending more for roots.
