Hey guys could anyone help me I’m not sure how to propagate this… it’s a small branch off an old pear tree that I’d love to have another of! If anyone could help I’d appreciate it!💚

I’m sorry to say this, but the branch looks very bare and old and I’m not sure if it could grow again. If the branch is freshly picked from the tree, there may be a small chance it could grow again, and so I would try but the chances are very small. Sorry 😢

I agree with the other person. It looks dead to me. Sorry!

Yep that branch is deadwood. The good news is pear will readily grow from cuttings. Wait until late spring/early summer, and do a new cutting with a branch from new growth. Do a section that's about 4-6 inches long, with a similar thickness to what you have. Ideally, the outside of the wood should be green or green-brown and still pretty flexible

For cut location, you want to cut slightly below a node (bumps where buds or leaves can grow in), and cut at a 45° angle (the angle helps increase surface area for it to drink in water). Remove all but the top three leaves and use rooting hormone. It may also help to take several cuttings because trees are more likely to fail than indoor tropical plants.
