Buy a baby one from a reputable nursery instead of one from a big box store.

I’m all for supporting local nurseries and plant shops 100% but they can be pretty pricey sometimes. So if your wallet can’t take a bigger hit or you don’t have a local place to get one from, a big box is fine. As always quarantine a new plant when you bring it home. I ALWAYS recommend treating the soil and leaves with Castile soap and water with mosquito bits in the water to treat for spider mites and fungus gnats. After a few weeks repot it in a nice chunky airy soil give her main stem some good support and sun and she’ll flourish in no time. I personally have to drive two hours for house plant shops so big box is my resource, as well as plant friends who like to share cuttings which is also a great option.
