I purchased my very first calathea a few weeks ago. It was doing very well until I noticed it had thrips (I’m pretty sure it had them when I bought the plant). I ended up killing the calathea by trying to get rid of the thrips.  
I was just wondering where the best place to get a new calathea would be. Are there any good online places to get one?

I’ve had good results so far from the large one I got from plantvine in Florida and I have two small ones from Peace, Love, \& Happiness in Oregon that are growing nicely. I think plantvine has more larger options. Most of mine if gotten from my local plant shops. Everyone gets a spray down and isolated for at least two weeks, \& I’ll repot depending on the soil quality
