Calatheas get such a bad rap in the plant community, but they are officially the comeback queens IMO 💁🏾‍♀️😂. That’s my medallion on the left, and in my hand is what was left of my illustris - both now growing new leaves and battling their way back from being decimated by thrips earlier this year.

I’ve been growing two in semi hydro leca for over a year now and they are still rolling right along. They hate the winter but always bounce right back in the spring and I honestly do nothing to help them 😂

Oh that’s great news! I just moved all of mine to leca after the thrips. Really hoping they’re happy from here on like yours!
