# Hello! I am really trying to take care of my plants this go round……

_Gepostet von Han am 2024-07-02_

Hello! I am really trying to take care of my plants this go round… Planta says that my patio (Part sun) is too dark for one of my plants. I live in an apartment and really don’t have anywhere else it can go with more sun unfortunately. Can I put a grow light on it and keep it outside? Will that help it get the light it needs?

Thanks for any advice

Howdy! What kind of plants do you have and what direction is the light coming from? I have a few plants that, according to Planta, do not receive enough light. They are growing just fine!

Thanks for your reply! I have a Madagascar Periwinkle and Lantana on my west-facing patio. They have been slumping a little and not blooming which is why I was concerned about light, but I think I also overwatered them. I’m not sure if they are or are not getting enough light, though

I live in an apartment with only two NW facing windows, one of which doesn’t get as much sun because the walls of my patio block it. I don’t have any grow lights outside, but I did buy a couple of grow lights from Amazon that stick into a plant w a stake and then plug in to the wall, runs on a timer so I don’t have to remember to turn it on and off, and I have never been happier with how my plants are growing. I know you’re asking specifically about having them outdoors and I can’t speak much to that, but can definitely recommend grow lights for apartments w limited plant locations!

Thank you, that helped a lot! I bring them in in the winter so this is very good to know 😃
