Does anyone know why my monstera esqueleto might be doing this? Its new leaves are turning limp and brown and the older leaves too.
4 inch plastic pot with drainage. under a grow light 8 hours a day, near a humidifier as well. Not sure what the problem is, I regularly fertilize. I’ve only had the plant a few months and have not repotted

How often are you fertilising? You could be overdoing it or overwatering

I actually think I may have left it too dry in between waterings, and I do fertilize every week or two in the summer. Could be over fertilizer?

That could be it- I usually do 1x a season. I would give it a rest for a few months so the excess can wash out- make sure you are watering deeply in the meantime

Peat moss won't rehydrate without a lot of agitation after it dries. Most plants can go years between fertilizing before showing negative effects (food crops are the exception). I would only fertilize every few months at most unless you're growing for food.

It looks like your Monstera Esqueleto might be experiencing a few potential issues, given the browning and limp leaves. Here are some possible causes and solutions:

\### 1. \*\*Overwatering or Underwatering\*\*:
\- \*\*Symptoms\*\*: Limp, browning leaves can be a sign of both overwatering and underwatering. Given the size of the plant, make sure you’re watering just enough to keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy.
\- \*\*Solution\*\*: Check the moisture level of the soil with your finger. If it feels wet, let it dry out more between waterings. If it’s bone dry, try increasing your watering schedule slightly.

\### 2. \*\*Fertilizer Burn\*\*:
\- \*\*Symptoms\*\*: Brown tips and leaf edges can be caused by over-fertilizing, which might be happening if you fertilize regularly.
\- \*\*Solution\*\*: Reduce the frequency of fertilizing and flush the soil with clean water to remove any fertilizer build-up. It’s best to fertilize once a month during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.

\### 3. \*\*Humidity\*\*:
\- \*\*Symptoms\*\*: Monsteras love high humidity, and though you have a humidifier, the dry tips could still indicate insufficient humidity.
\- \*\*Solution\*\*: Ensure the humidifier is working effectively, and increase humidity levels around the plant. Consider misting the plant or moving it closer to the humidifier.

\### 4. \*\*Pot Size\*\*:
\- \*\*Symptoms\*\*: The plant is still in a 4-inch pot, which may be a bit small if the roots are bound.
\- \*\*Solution\*\*: Repot the plant in a slightly larger container (about 1-2 inches wider) to give the roots more space to grow.

\### 5. \*\*Light Intensity\*\*:
\- \*\*Symptoms\*\*: Even though it’s under a grow light, the light intensity or proximity could be an issue. Too much light can cause browning, while too little can make the leaves limp.
\- \*\*Solution\*\*: Adjust the distance from the grow light and ensure it’s getting bright but indirect light, not too intense or too dim.

By addressing these potential issues, your Monstera should start to recover and produce healthier growth. Keep an eye on watering, light, and humidity, and repot if needed!
