# What’s happening with my peperomia? New growth, possible flower…

What’s happening with my peperomia? New growth, possible flower blooming, water every 10-12 days or when it’s mostly dry. Not sure what the spots are- burned maybe? Sits in a west facing window.

I’m seeing that some of the leaves have lightened and would guess part of the problem is it’s in too bright of a spot, even for a west facing window. I keep my peperomias in my north windowsills in the summer and on the outskirts of where the light reaches under my grow light, so if you have a lower light or north facing window, maybe try keeping it in that for a while. I’ve got a peperomia frost that started getting lighter leaves very quickly by being too close to the grow light but now that it’s much father, she’s doing much better. I’ve found that peperomia obtusifolias can handle an east or west window just fine but peperomia caperatas and similar cousins really enjoy the shadier spots. Hope this helps!

I had the same issue with mine. I had her sitting on my plant stand fairly close to a grow light and every time she pushed out a new leaf, it would die off, so I moved her to the edge in a much shady spot, and now the new leaves she is pushing out are actually growing, and the brown spots I got on a couple of the other leaves, didn’t go away, but also aren’t getting any bigger. My leaves are also starting to get more color back.
I would definitely try moving her to a shadier spot
