# Early valentines gift from my hubby, but it keeps molding on top.…

Early valentines gift from my hubby, but it keeps molding on top. What does this mean? Why does it keep molding? I constantly change the water out.

Definitely a keeper lol! Mold typically grows in dark and damp environments, so if your bamboo is under a shelf and is getting too much water, for example, that could cause the mold to form. Aeration also has something to do with it, because if there isn’t a lot of circulation going on, then it allows spores to accumulate faster. So, I would try to remove as much mold as you can, or consider changing out the rocks and setting that your bamboo is in.

Thank you @3therea1! It’s on the top shelf and receives indirect light. The temps in the house do change a lot since my son loves the AC. Haha I need to look for another pot to put it in with this rectangular shape. And yes, definitely a keeper ❤️
