Other than mosquito bits, the only other thing that worked for me was taking the plant out of the pot getting all the soil off washing the plant really well and planting in all new soil. That took care of it... for a while anyway. 🫤 They are precocious little buggers. #### exitJiraffe님이 2025-05-13에 답변했습니다. I second this. Repotting with fresh soil and sticky traps to get rid of any lingering stuff. I’ve also sprayed roots with hydrogen peroxide before repotting, but that can be a little risky. The only 100% effective method I’ve tried is repotting with new soil. A lot of work, but it’s super worth it not to have flies buzzing about. ### Geo님이 2025-05-13에 댓글을 남겼어요. Same stuff BTi that's in mosquito bits ### Sorbe님이 2025-05-13에 댓글을 남겼어요. Aside from the sticky traps I’ve tried 2/3 water to 1/3 isopropyl alcohol and mist it on your plants and the soil. Tried it a couple of days ago for my plants and it seemed to have worked. I added a bit more water to alcohol ratio because I didn’t wanna harm my plants and the gnats have gone down in amount. Alternating that with cinnamon seems to have worked well! ### alexkazam19님이 2025-05-13에 댓글을 남겼어요. I let my plant dry out almost completely, repotted with more drainage, and topped with pine mulch. Hi there, I use yellow sticky traps to trap the adults fungus gnats and to get rid of the larvae, water with a larvicide called Vectobac. It’s a bacteria that you add to the water, watering once in week one then once a week later and that’s it. ### Bb님이 2025-05-13에 댓글을 남겼어요. Oh also to deal with the larvae you can use beneficial nematodes. I haven’t tried that option as the bacterial larvicide was easier to source where I am.
