Hello guys I need some help please, today I realized these woodish looking marks/damage on my White Princess Philodendron mother plant, just wondering what the cause may be and how I can avoid it from happening anymore.. I think it may be stress from being strapped to the wooden stick. Removing the ties and mounting it on a sphagnum moss pole.

Are you able to gently scrape off some of the smaller oval spots with your fingernail or are they “part” of the plant?

They are kinda part of the plant, if I scrape the most outer layer of the stalk off the spots come off with it.
