# Please HELP!!! You need background info for this question, I always…

Please HELP!!!  
You need background info for this question, I always check my soil with chopsticks to make sure my soil is completely dry, and I add perlite and orchid bark to my soil as well.

The question is, why is only half of my soil drying out recently? The top half is dry but the bottom half will not dry out, it just started happening since i last watered my plants.

I’ve also poked around the soil mix a bit to loosen it up and still nothing

could be that your pots are too big and there aren’t enough roots to make use of the water
