# I have a Jubilee Blueberry that I have been trying to help all…

I have a Jubilee Blueberry that I have been trying to help all summer. I am in Oklahoma and its been a very dry and hot summer. Last week I checked on it and everything above the soil was brown and dead. The roots seemed okay so I went ahead and went for the big chop and cut away everything above the soil. I have the pot it is in now under a gazebo and gets little light because I saw I should keep it in "forest conditions" and minimize watering to help it bounce back.

Here is what I have for the plant:  
-In a wide pot, plastic. I drilled 4 drain holes into the bottom. Should I put it on a small platform? It was just placed on grass before.  
\- pH, I know its a big delay for blueberries. I have added an acidic fertilizer many times, but I havent tested the soil before.  
-watering, I had placed mulch on the top of the soil and would check it every few days to see how wet the soil underneath was. It didnt dry out often, so maybe my drainage wasnt good enough?

Open to any suggestions of what I more I can do to bring this fella back from the brink of death. Or any errors I have made. Thanks!
