I thought my Dracaena had drained after the last watering. The app called for me to water it again and when I took him out of the planter, I discovered he was too moist and has wormy creatures walking around his soil. How do I get rid of them?! I didn't see these creepy crawlies two days ago when I looked at him! 😧🤢

Can you change the potting soil?

I'm going to, because the insecticide I used didn't work. Changing soil was plan B.

How long ago was the last watering? This plant likes to dry out inbetween waterings. I can’t zoom in on the picture, but the bug almost just looks like a centipede or millipede? I’m unsure if that’s the case if there were lots of them. I would change out that soil as it shouldn’t be wet that long, and check the health of the roots. Spray the plant with a 1:4 ratio of peroxide to water. I also recommend diluted neem oil to keep them away. Spray maybe weekly.

Thanks. The app called for water, and I checked him to see if he was dry, because I didn't think he'd need watering yet. Soil was definitely still damp. So I was not about to water him, but then I found the creepy crawlies. I'm changing the soil when I get home tonight. I have begun spraying all my plants periodically, as my sister warned me she was starting to see more infestations in her plants lately, and she is more of an expert than I am. So I started spraying neem oil, but I also have another bio insecticide that seems to work a bit better. Others mentioned alcohol, so I am going to have a spray bottle of alcohol as well. You mentioned peroxide. Will that have the same effect as alcohol? Does one have benefits over the other?

I haven’t tried alcohol! I would just do some research but I would imagine either would be perfect. Use what you have on hand!

Thanks! I dont think it will harm too much, so I'm going to try and see.
