hi :) two days ago i had to excavate a lot of my adansoniis root system because a lot of it got hit with root rot :( i know theres gonna be a shock period, but i feel like theres something else not quite right. i gave her a little bit of fish fertilizer and water right after repotting with my own soil mix just to settle the soil, not enough to saturate. let me know what u guys think :(

Mine got root rot so I put it in water… it grew huge water roots quickly. Now I grow it in semi hydroponics, in lechuza pon. It grew lots of leaves. So now I want to put him on a moss pole so he can climb upwards like he would in nature. He will size up even more this way

Oh yeah with any plant you can do this, it will rot away the soil roots and water roots will form but I only suggest doing that if you plan on growing semi hydroponically. I love it because it’s way less maintenance, don’t have to worry about root rot as much, and way less fungus gnats.

You should definitely consider semi hydro, especially for this particular monstera. Honestly you can even leave this in water if you don’t plan on having yours grow up a moss pole. I had mine in water for a year actually before transplanting in pon
