# I watered 2 days ago, used liquid fertilizer about 5 days ago with…

_Posted by Jessica Stallard on 2024-04-02_

I watered 2 days ago, used liquid fertilizer about 5 days ago with water. I do not have a green thumb, but I’m trying! I tend to “love” my plants a little too much. Does it look like I’ve overwatered or something else? Thanks in advance for the help/advice!

The yellowing to me is from overwatering. If it is soaked, you may need to repot to save from root rot. Then water when needed. This plant usually signals when it needs water. The leaves tend to droop. It also doesn’t like direct sunlight, indirect works best. Good luck!👍🏽

If the soil is dry, give it a bath. Your water may be hydrophobic and it needs to sit and soak.

If it’s wet, leave it alone (or you can put in a tampon or something to soak up some water).

Ie judge the next step by the soil

What’s all the white fluff? You may have a pest…

Probably pollen from the flower

No that is way too much for it to be pollen. You could possibly have mealy bugs or mites or both.

it’s def pollen. it’s not a lot and does not look like mealy bugs

I just had a similar issue with my peace lily. I had just watered it cuz i saw it was droopy like yours. I actually found out that aeration the soil helped a lot! Just poke a couple holes into the soil with a chop stick or tooth pick. Then I watered it a couple hours later. I did this in the evening of yesterday. In the morning it’s was back to being tall and perfect! I hope this helps!💚🌿

Thank you for all the suggestions! I tried the aeration for a few hours and then bottom watered in a bowl. Then moved the stand to receive more indirect sunlight. I’ll see how it’s doing tomorrow. If no improvement I’ll try to repot! 🤞🏼
