# I got this piper parmatum on clearance about a week ago, I cleaned…

_Posted by Sab on 2025-05-16_

I got this piper parmatum on clearance about a week ago, I cleaned the soil off, pruned the dead leaves, treated with pesticide, and placed the roots in water with a little bit of super thrive.
I need help, though I haven’t seen any sort of improvement what should my next steps be?

So far so good. I’d say if you have a small pot just put it in that. Unless you are planning to grow it hydro/semi hydro there’s no reason to keep the roots in water.

If it was in soil, it's in shock and you aren't going to see much of anything for a bit

I agree with both these answers. It is in shock. Also it’s only been a week. Make sure you change the water
