# WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! I only saw one and he was dead. the plant is…

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?! I only saw one and he was dead. the plant is in the best shape of its life. the only slightly suspicious activity is this white, salt like stuff on it (it’s right below a crack in the ceiling so I think that’s what it’s from)  
do I need to go into panic mode?

Looks like a leafhopper or very small moth

my google search also said leafhopper - seems like shouldn’t cause harm unless there are more?

You can wipe the leaves down with neem oil to be on the safe side, preventative maintenance and to see if the white salt stuff comes back…

I did do that about 3 weeks ago and it did come back. I think it’s either the crack in the ceiling or over fertilization. it appears on the same exact spot every time

That’s weird. Do you mist it? Could it be from the water you’re using for that?

nope! very weird I agree. the plant below it has it as well

It may be some kind of fungus. I use neem oil for a lot of that stuff, too, but I repeat every 7-10 days for 4-6 weeks when I do. Sorry I’m not more help. Maybe someone else knows a little more…
